Press Release Harvesting Robot
Berlin, February 4, 2025 – TTA-ISO is set to revolutionize greenhouse automation by launching its groundbreaking fully automated tomato harvesting robot. Years of rigorous development and field testing have culminated in this revolutionary machine, which will debut globally at FRUIT LOGISTICA 2025 (February 5–7).
A New Era in Tomato Harvesting
Designed for tomato cultivation, the advanced harvesting robot is the first of its kind to offer complete automation in harvesting. It employs AI-driven ripeness detection powered by Robovision’s advanced vision software, integrates seamlessly with standard heating rails (550–600 mm), and features an intelligent 3D-guided smart robot navigation system. This combination delivers crop protection, optimized harvesting speed, and superior output.
With an operational speed of up to 450 vines per hour, the system provides unparalleled throughput and precision. Automated disinfection improves food safety and hygiene, making it an excellent choice for commercial greenhouse operations.
Efficiency, Data-Driven Insights, and Scalability
By automating the labor-intensive aspects of the harvesting process, TTA-ISO’s harvesting robot significantly reduces reliance on manual picking by automating the labor-intensive aspects of the process. An individual operator can efficiently oversee up to six HVRs, thus lowering labor costs while upholding a consistent and dependable harvesting pace.
The system also gathers valuable real-time data, allowing growers to improve their harvesting strategies and optimize productivity. By minimizing manual handling, the robot reduces contamination risks, further enhancing food safety standards.
Looking ahead
Although initially designed for tomato harvesting, the technology behind the harvester holds promising potential for adaptation to other greenhouse crops. While current efforts focus on perfecting tomato harvesting, TTA-ISO is already exploring future opportunities to expand its innovative automation solutions.
The first deliveries are set for 2026. Growers and industry professionals interested in exploring innovative automation solutions for horticulture and food are encouraged to learn more at FRUIT LOGISTICA 2025.
“With lower labor costs, scalable operation, and real-time data insights, our automated harvesting robot is set to redefine the future of greenhouse harvesting,” said Martin Maasland, Co-CEO of TTA-ISO.
